The fourth in this series.
Strong feelings – when I started this track, my aim was to captur and communicate a strong feeling. And as I added element after element, using just feeling and my ears, not paying much attention on what was going on under the hood in my DAW, I was surprised when I finally popped the hood. I was not expecting to find what I did. The track starts with a sound with a slow attack, not peaking at the first beat of the rather square compartments in the DAW. Even if I every now and then after recording chords, melodies or rhythms hit the quantesize function, it sounded good through out production. What I discovered was that, probably due to the first sounds slow attack, I had gotten the first beat of what I heard, on the second beat in the square compartments. If you listen carefully as the drums come in, you’ll hear it. (No, I did not build the track in the order it is presented.) So everything is lined up to one another, just not to where or how I usually build my tracks. That’s relativity for you! Thank you Einstein, even if this is probably not what you meant! 🙂 And as for the ending of the track, even strong feelings fade away eventually.
Plentyful – Somewhat mysterious start, like floating. Then, some structures emerge. Gets stronger. Then the machinery. Or? Where did it go? Will it return? Being a Muddhedd track, it is most likely it will! Do you long for it to come back? I did! Elements join and disappear, some missed as they go and welcomed as they return, some late additions (as usual-ish).
Rarely real – perhaps a reflection of what we see around us? Is it real most of the time? Some of the time? Rarely? Unsure. What I am sure of is this track. I am sure I like it. I am sure that I had a real time. A real good time! That is my truth. What yours is, as usual, totally up to you.
Reason unkown – No, not Reason the DAW. That is known. But reason for this track? Unknown. It just sort of happened. I had a plan, it didn’t go accordingly. This happened instead.
Thirst – Only five tracks into this album, this might well be my favourit track of this album. Even if I’ve only started two more. But there is a certain feeling in this track. Something that appeals to me. Greatly. I want more of it. It feels like a thirst that I can not put out by drinking water.
Varied Variety – Variables in everything. All aspects. Period. And it creates a kind of tension. Also, patterns. Although varied, they still form. And patterns are recognisable. And to me, rather comforting. A pattern, even with variations, is familiar. I like familiar. I like the known. The expected. But also. I welcome the unknow (even if I am a little scared of it) and feel a curiousity towards it.
Wandering lost wondering – have you ever, completely absormed in your own thoughts, just wandered off? Gotten a little lost. Wondering how you got there? Wonderning how to get there. Or where you were going? Or perhaps back?
Dust in dusk – dust. The resedue of things that once was. Reduced. Dusk, the last beams of hope, before the darkness of the night embedd the world. In a way, similiar. Dust and dusk. In a way both whispering of the possibility of something new after what once was.
Warm winter wurst – imagine a cold winterday. Hungry. Then somewhere, a scent hits your nose. Something smells really good. And is there smoke in the air? You check it out. Yes, there, someone has lit a fire out in the open. You go there. Feel the warmth of the fire. You are offered a grilled sausage. Oh, the taste. Magnificent.
Cold circular cream – as where the wurst was warm, this cream is cold. Just when you need to be cooled down. Coming from something that has winded you up quite a bit. Now you get to focus. To let go. To cool down.
Gently grumpy green – Is grumpy green even a colour? And if so, can it be gentle? Well, according to this track – yes. Apperently. But the real question. Is gentle grumpy green a colour for you? Do you like it?
Noble node nudgeing – It is said that nobility is all but extincted. I do not agree. Perhaps not as it once was, but reshaped and in a new form, like everything else even nobility developes and changes over time. Now, picture this. You see a node. Does not matter what kind. You see that it is slightly out of balance. You descide to give it a little nudge. Gracefully. Noble. There you go! [Insert track title]
No idea – So, for this track I asked my daughter. What should I call it? The answer: No idea! So, for all of you out there – I give you: No idea!
To be decided – Again, I asked my daughter. What should I call this track? The answer: I don’t know, I need to think about it. I’ll get back to you. So, for all of you out there – I give you: To be decided!
Still thinking – For the third time, I asked my daughter; what should I call this track? The answer: I don’t know, I’m still thinking. So, for all of you out there – I give you: Still thinking!
Take it slow – And even if the saying goes: third time is the charm. Fourth time I asked my daughter to name the track. And she’s like: what? Is this the fourth track? You need to slow down, dad! So, for all of you out there – I give you: Slow down!
Seventeen two eight zero – if you get it or know, you know. If not, well, it is just another track title. And this time it is all about me, my daughter had nothing to do with this title.
Check out – last track for this album. Time to check out, like from a hotelroom. It is important to not miss the time, it might cost extra if you are over due. So, I dare not push this album any further. 18 tracks seems enough. Perhaps even a little too close to that magic line? Well, here you go anyway. The 18th and last track of this album. I hope you’ve enjoyed it!
